The Hanseatic and University City of Rostock is planning to set up a climate protection network. This is to be carried out by the external network management of the environmental technology network enviMV.
During the project period, measures in the area of climate protection for CO2 savings, energy monitoring (ecological footprint) and sustainable procurement are to be selected and implemented with the participants. To this end, the participating companies will be advised by qualified external experts.
The Hanseatic and University City of Rostock, the municipal companies Stadtwerke Rostock AG, Stadtentsorgung Rostock GmbH, Rostocker Straßenbahn AG, Nordwasser GmbH, WIRO Wohnen in Rostock Wohnungsgesellschaft mbH and the University of Rostock were identified as potential network partners in advance.
Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, a digital information event was held in April 2021 together with the Bildungswerk der Wirtschaft with the respective contact persons of the potential network partners. The information event provided information about the objective, the planned measures, the calculated costs, the contractual conditions and the own contributions.
The aim is to subsequently submit an application for funding in the National Climate Protection Initiative for a municipal network in Rostock in the area of climate protection. Cooperation and exchange with the Regiopolregion Rostock (Rostock district) and the municipal stakeholders is planned.
