From October 18 to 29, 2021, enviMV, with the support of the MV State Chancellery, some members of the Environmental Technology Network and the PROAMB waste association on the Brazilian side, conducted an online training course in waste management for Brazilian experts from relevant industries, associations, universities and municipalities in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
After this innovative training format with live broadcasts from various power plants had already been successfully carried out in 2020, the planned training was able to take place again this year despite the corona-related travel restrictions.
In the first week, representatives from the Hanseatic City and University of Rostock, various ministries in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and our members Leea MV and BN Umwelt GmbH taught the theoretical basics.
In the second part of the training, the practical part was demonstrated - with the help of digital live walks, the Brazilian experts were able to gain insights into the PET recycling plant of Veolia GmbH, the biogas plant of mele Biogas GmbH, the power plant of EEW Energy from Waste GmbH and the mechanical-biological waste treatment plant and landfill of OVVD GmbH.
At the beginning of the training course, the participants chose a task that was worked on throughout the course and presented on the last day, resulting in new project ideas for cooperation between Brazilian and German partners in the field of waste management.
